Servette 2-1 Chelsea: Blues Lose Second Leg but Advance to Conference League on Aggregate

 

Chelsea advanced to the league phase of the Europa Conference League, despite a loss to Servette in the second leg of their qualifying play-off in Switzerland.

Under the management of Enzo Maresca, Chelsea entered the match with a 2-0 lead from the first leg at Stamford Bridge. They extended their aggregate advantage just 14 minutes into the game when Christopher Nkunku converted a penalty, following a foul on Mykhailo Mudryk by Keigo Tsunemoto.

Servette responded with a goal from Jeremy Guillemenot, who capitalized on a precise pass from Dereck Kutesa to fire a shot across Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Filip Jorgensen.

The Swiss side then took the lead on the night after substitutes Enzo Crivelli and Miroslav Stevanovic combined, with Crivelli heading in a cross from the left. However, Servette couldn't find the crucial second goal needed to force extra time, allowing Chelsea to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory.
